S7 Retrofit

Keep operating S7-300 and S7-400 or migrate?

Not every older controller needs to be replaced immediately. We review the program version, hardware, connected peripherals, documentation and available maintenance windows. This produces a clear migration path – from targeted continued operation to phased modernization of individual plant sections.

migration & retrofit

Harald Brida has programmed and modernized control and automation systems for more than 20 years – from individual machines to complex industrial plants. His focus is Siemens S7, TIA Portal, STEP 7 Classic, commissioning and the phased modernization of existing plants.

Programs are structured so that sequences, interlocks and interfaces remain understandable later. For retrofit projects, as much work as possible is prepared remotely and scheduled into existing maintenance windows.

FAQ

PLC programming FAQ

What does PLC programming cost?

Costs depend on the controller, project status, documentation, access options, required scope and necessary on-site work. After a short technical clarification, you receive a clearly defined scope with effort and prerequisites.

Which Siemens PLC systems do you program?

The focus is on SIMATIC S7-300, S7-400, S7-1200 and S7-1500 as well as TIA Portal and STEP 7 Classic. For visualization, we support WinCC, WinCC Unified and Siemens panels, among others.

Do you commission systems on site?

Yes. Engineering and preparation can often be done remotely. Signal tests, function tests, commissioning and acceptance are carried out directly at the plant when required.

Can you work with undocumented legacy plants?

Yes, provided the existing program version and technical access allow a structured analysis. At the outset, project versions, I/O, communication and plant behavior are recorded. This determines the scope for troubleshooting, documentation or modernization.

When is an S7-300 or S7-400 migration worthwhile?

Migration should be reviewed when spare-parts risk, missing project versions, extension requirements, outdated visualization or recurring faults make plant operation difficult. A full replacement is not always necessary; modernization can often be planned in clear stages.

Which work can be done remotely?

Program reviews, software changes, block preparation, HMI adjustments, project comparisons and parts of diagnostics can often be performed remotely. Work on signals, hardware, drives and real machine sequences generally requires on-site support.

Do you work outside Austria?

Yes. Sync Motion supports selected projects in Germany and Switzerland and other international assignments where required. Scope and on-site work are agreed before the project begins.

Do you also work for machine and plant builders?

Yes. We can take on clearly defined engineering, visualization, commissioning or retrofit work packages and integrate into existing project structures.
